General terms and conditions

Article 1 – Definitions

• Taxi H.C.T.: Taxi H.C.T. – Hengelo Class Taxi, located at Ida Wassermanstraat 76, 7558 RN Hengelo, the Netherlands.
• Customer: the person who books a trip or orders transport.
• Passenger: any person travelling with Taxi H.C.T.
• Trip: the transport of passengers and their luggage from the pick-up address to the destination.

Article 2 – Applicability

These terms apply to all bookings, quotes and trips of Taxi H.C.T. Deviating agreements only apply if confirmed in writing (including by email).

Article 3 – Booking

You can book online, by phone or via WhatsApp. The agreement is concluded as soon as we have confirmed your booking. The customer provides correct and complete details, such as pick-up address, destination, date, time, number of passengers, luggage and, for airport trips, the flight number. The consequences of incorrect details are at the customer’s expense.

Article 4 – Prices

• Our rates are shown on the website and on the rate card in the taxi. All prices include 9% VAT and stay within the legal maximum rates.
• The fare consists of a start rate, a price per kilometre and a price per minute. Trips from 12 km get 15% discount and from 100 km 35% discount.
• A fixed price or quote applies to the agreed route, number of passengers and luggage. Extra stops, detours or changes at the customer’s request may lead to a higher price.

Article 5 – Payment

You pay online when booking, or in the taxi in cash, by debit card or credit card. Business customers can travel on account by arrangement; the invoice must be paid within the term stated on the invoice.

Article 6 – Cancelling and changing

Cancellation is free of charge. We ask you to cancel or change a trip as early as possible, by phone, WhatsApp or email. An amount prepaid online is refunded on cancellation.

Article 7 – Pick-up and waiting

The driver is at the pick-up address at the agreed time. For airport trips we track your flight and adjust the pick-up time to the actual arrival. If the passenger is not there on time, the driver will make contact. Longer waiting time at the customer’s request or due to the customer may be charged at the per-minute rate.

Article 8 – Passengers and luggage

• The Mercedes CLA carries up to 4 people with up to 4 suitcases and 3 pieces of hand luggage; the Mercedes EQV300 up to 8 people with up to 7 suitcases and 5 pieces of hand luggage. More or special luggage (such as bicycles or large sports equipment) only by arrangement.
• Every passenger wears a seat belt. A child seat is not legally required in a taxi; you may bring your own child seat.
• Smoking is not allowed in the taxi. Pets only by arrangement; assistance dogs are always welcome.

Article 9 – Conduct and damage

The driver may refuse or end transport if a passenger behaves aggressively or unsafely, or poses a danger due to alcohol or drugs. Damage to or serious soiling of the vehicle by a passenger will be recovered from the customer, including cleaning costs.

Article 10 – Liability

Taxi H.C.T. is liable in accordance with the statutory rules for passenger transport (Book 8 of the Dutch Civil Code). We plan trips with a generous margin, but are not liable for delays or their consequences due to circumstances beyond our control, such as traffic jams, accidents, road closures or extreme weather. Passengers are responsible for valid travel documents.

Article 11 – Lost property

Items left in the taxi are kept carefully. Contact us if you have lost something; we will then arrange collection or return.

Article 12 – Complaints

Do you have a complaint? Report it as soon as possible via info@taxihct.nl or +31 74 781 11 11, stating the date and time of the trip. We handle your complaint carefully and will contact you as soon as possible.

Article 13 – Applicable law

All agreements with Taxi H.C.T. are governed by Dutch law. Disputes are submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands.
